Support CHOICES: The CHOICES coalition depends on its diversity because, in order to ensure health care choices, we must use all the collective knowledge, skills, and experiences of the Eugene-Springfield community. Already, CHOICES has benefited from the volunteer time and talents of professional attorneys, medical caregivers, website designers, planners, and scientists.  The contributions of these people, and many others who have written letters to the newspapers, attended hearings, and participated in strategy meetings, can not be overvalued. But if the effort is to succeed, CHOICES needs even more of our community to become involved.  Maybe you or someone you know could provide: Pro bono professional services - for example, an economist who could help tally the "true" costs of proposed hospital sites, or an architectural illustrator who could convey the possibilities of a centrally located site. Coalition partners - we would be glad to attend a meeting of your community or advocacy group, especially if you're interested in land use, community health, downtown redevelopment, human rights, environmental, or labor issues. Letter writers - we're always looking for effective ways to get the word out; letters to the editor reach a wide audience. Financial support - to cover costs for outreach materials, office expenses, documents, and other essentials; contributions can be tax-deductible. Your volunteer or financial support is critical to ensuring that the community is involved in key land use and health care decisions.  Please support the efforts of CHOICES to maintain quality, accessible health care options for the Eugene - Springfield community.
